Ian Charles Rogers MSc CMIOSH Cert Ed

Short biography: Ian (known as Roy) achieved his Automotive Engineering Higher National Certificate (HNC) in 1992. After a career spanning 25 years was appointed Senior Automotive Engineer with the aim of establishing and implementing repair organisational policy and procedures covering health and safety, quality assurance and environmental management systems. He has also been responsible for initiating and maintaining Safety, Health and Environmental Responsibilities within Facilities Management including cleaning (industrial, office and high level access window cleaning), catering, engineering and security in the UK. All training material is based on the principles of BS8454 Delivery of Training for Work at Height.

Specialities: Working at Height Trainer, Qualified Fall Protection Assessor / Inspector, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Occupational Health and Safety Practice Assessor / Internal Verifier.

Personal Interests: Roy’s interests include instructing Sub-Aqua Diving with the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC), Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), Kite Buggying & kite flying.

Prizes and Honours: Awarded annually since 1879, Medals for Excellence reward talented people who have displayed exceptional standards as City & Guilds learners. One of only 88 people from over million eligible candidates to win the National City & Guilds Medal for Excellence for his outstanding performance on the Occupational Health and Safety Practice Level 4, at Murrayshall House, SCONE, Scotland by Graham Houston, Chair of the Scottish and National Training Awards Judging Panel.
